Sportsmanship

Good sportsmanship is the essential foundation of our athletics program at Staunton High School, and it is our expectation that all coaches, student-athletes, and fans demonstrate superior sportsmanship at all times.  Please refer to these resources for more information:

Shenandoah District Sportsmanship Code

The Shenandoah District promotes good sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches and spectators. We request your cooperation by supporting the participants and officials in a positive manner. Profanity, racial or sexist comments or other intimidating actions directed at the officials, student-athletes, other spectators, coaches or team representatives will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from the site of competition and future events.

Everyone is expected to display respect, courtesy, and strong character toward their team, opponents, coaches, other spectators, and officials. Good sportsmanship is the clearest expression of our commitment to all that is fair and good in sports. There is no honor in winning unless it is done in a sportsmanlike manner.
